1. Pray against the technical failure of computers, printers, copiers, storage disks, and service items for every New Testament project nearing completion. 2. Pray for Eric and Carol Peterson, teaching English as a Second Language in the Philippines. Pray that Asian students will gain English proficiency as they prepare to serve with Wycliffe or other missions. 3. Ask God to provide needed personnel in key areas of leadership at JAARS. 4. The Combined Federal Campaign, an annual fund drive, targets eight million federal employees. JAARS is allowed to distribute literature in the lobbies of federal workplaces from August to mid-December. Ask God to work in the hearts of potential donors. 5. Pray for those who will be attending the JAARS Aviation orientation next spring. Pray that God will raise up their financial and support teams soon. 6. Pray for families who are making a transition during the middle of the school year. Disruption of their school schedules is hard on students. 7. Ask the Lord to give wisdom and enthusiasm to the International IT Mobilization staff as they help place volunteers around the world and process summer interns. 8. God covered the need for extra help at the JAARS preschool during the Intercultural Communications Course. Ten new children attended. Praise Him for His daily faithfulness! 9. Len and Gill Allwright, in Sydney, Australia, organize Friends of Wycliffe home meetings where mission members can share their stories with long-term supporters. Pray for many good meetings. 10. Pray for MKs. Pray for protection from emotional, physical, and sexual abuse. Pray that God’s redeeming power and healing will transform lives devastated by such abuse. 11. Praise the Lord for second and third generation MKs serving with Wycliffe. 12. Pray for Creative Services writer Mary Beth Johnson, preparing for a trip to Papua New Guinea in February. 13. Continue to pray for students from seven countries taking the Vernacular Media Training Course in the Philippines. 14. Pray that trained surveyors will be able to complete the task of identifying translation needs worldwide. 15. Pray that in this Christmas season we will share the real meaning of Jesus’ birth with everyone we meet. 16. Pray for Al and Mickey Williams, returning from the Philippines to help care for Mickey’s parents. Al will serve in crisis management, remotely, for the SIL Asia Office. 17. June Dickie gives thanks for new Mwani seekers and believers in Mozambique. Pray many more will come to a saving knowledge of Christ. 18. Praise God for and pray for the behind-the-scenes servants working in the JAARS Center Services offices. 19. Some Wycliffe workers struggle for months to raise their support level to 100%. Pray that God will touch the hearts of Christians who can share the financial burdens of Bible translation. 20. Pray for wisdom for the software development staff who design and write language application programs used by translators in the field. 21. David Gilchrist is a Mobilization Coordinator in Wycliffe Scotland. Pray for the In Focus program, designed to encourage churches to link up with Bibleless people groups. 22. Thank God for missions-minded churches. Pray for a missions vision for churches that don’t have it. 24. Praise God that the Naso-Teribe New Testament has been completed in Panama. Pray for Tito, who seeks to evangelize his community. 25. Pray the JAARS “advertisement” in a local newspaper will be a Christian witness amidst other holiday symbols. 26. Pray for wisdom in maintaining the security of our computer networks and for protection against viruses that can sabotage systems or steal information. 27. Pray for areas recovering from hurricanes, including Haiti, the Caribbean, and the U.S. gulf coast. 28. Mission staff return periodically to reconnect with family, partners, and supporting churches; upgrade training; and more. Pray they will have time for rest and refreshment as well. 29.
